How was Sound, Breath & Movements Born?

About Sagar

Who is Sagar Dugani

Over the past four years, his passion for exploring the human experience has led him to invest over 1000 hours into every modality he practised & he has based all the study purely on self-practice in understanding both the physical and non-physical aspects of the body. Through diverse modalities, he has ventured into the realms of both logic and mysticism, drawing upon self-research and scientific backing to enrich his knowledge.

How did he get into these practices? He was born into a joint family where his mom and dad had separated when he was 5 years old. He was raised by his dad who happens to be a cop. His journey until he turned 21 has been filled with a lot of traumatic experiences where he also tried to end his life multiple times. His only aim was to move away from the family which he did for his higher studies. He studied well & made it into the top companies and reached his goal of financial aspiration within 6 years of his corporate journey. The switch took place after 8 years of his career when he started questioning the point of everything he was doing. He was interested in dance since his childhood but wasn't allowed into the same as his dad never gave him that opportunity to explore art.

His one solo trip to Goa at the age of 27 changed his entire perception of life. He met artists from different countries for the first time. He got an opportunity to attend ecstatic dance where he moved his body like never before. The movements on that particular night made him question everything about his past and present. While he sat in front of the ocean the same night, the thoughts were very simple. How was he able to dance the way he did? How did the movements arrive in just 3 hours? If so many new movements can be born in this short time, what more is there to explore within him?

While he sat in front of the ocean the life-changing thought was 'if he walks into the ocean just for 30 minutes'. He will be dead. His close friends will weep for a while and then move on with their life. His brother and wife and best friends will be the ones who will miss him the most but they will also move on. The ocean made him feel really small so he said to himself, let me speak the truth to myself from this moment onwards. That's when the first question arrived about the present. Does he wants to continue working in the corporate, the answer was simple NO! He took the answer and moved on to get back and solve the mystery of life.

He had debt which would take him at least 2 years to pay off. He analysed his life and made a plan to quit the corporate not knowing what's next. He put all his effort into practice as he started understanding that it was all about practice. He aspired to be a fitness instructor. Finally, he quit when he turned 30 and shifted to Goa. He put himself into martial arts practice and other movements practice for 6-8 hours a day which went on for 3-4 months but soon he was diagnosed with spondylitis and was on rest. He consulted many doctors and the answer was the same, it would take at least 6 months to get back to movements training. That is when the Didgeridoo, which is an Australian aboriginal instrument came into his life. One of the shamans in Goa suggested exploring self-healing through breath and sound. He started practising the didgeridoo for 4-8 hours a day which led him to heal his body in less than 3 months. This was the time when the merger of Movements, Sound & Breath was born. His curiosity grew into these elements and the self-research has kept on until today. His practice is simple if you have any questions ask yourself through practice. Put more than 100 hours initially to reach 1000 hours in total and the practice becomes yours forever & reveals its benefits.

In his present, he practices and teaches Contact dance, Free Flow Movements, Animal Movements, Fire Staff performances and rituals & Sound Healing where he plays more than 10 instruments in the session. He has mastered the art of Movements, Sound & breath & now on the journey of sharing with different sectors of society to raise the awareness of self through these modalities.

Scientifically Proven Benefits

The Study of sound has led me to one of the most beautiful & insightful phases of the sound journey. The following images are the outcomes of live instruments like Gong, Didgeridoo, Singing Bowls, and Rattlers through a Sound Cymatics Application. These are 2D interpretations; yet, when you envision them in 3D, you'll discover that each intricate pattern possesses the ability to target precise points in the body, activating cells and emotions. These potent vibrations resonate deeply at the cellular level, weaving an endless array of patterns within us. The outcome is a state of blissful mind, recognized as the theta state, allowing us to access the utmost potential of human existence!
